A few years ago, Amy headed to New Mexico for a nursing school rotation. She left me (Yma) behind with her roommates in Michigan with a note explaining that I'd be their replacement roommate while she was gone. Her roommates welcomed me with open arms and helped me create a journal of my experiences as their roommate and a photo album of all the roommate activities they'd included me in. Since then, I've accompanied Amy through moving back to the Pacific Northwest, living with her in her first apartment and helping her buy her first home. Over the years that I've been her friend, she's traveled to China, Vietnam, England, France, Spain, and Italy and has never taken me along. Needless to say, I'm thrilled she and Abbey are finally including me on a trip, rather than leaving me behind to keep the house-sitter company! I'm so excited to see London, Germany, Austria and Switzerland! Seeing the Alps has always been my dream (all that snow)...perhaps I'll meet the Abominable Snowman. We hold the Eurail passes in our hands and the plane ticket confirmations in our computers and we leave in 32 days!!!! 32!!!!
